JENNIFER H W KAO, O.D.
Dr. Jennifer Kao,O.D., was born and raised in Taiwan and immigrated with her family to California in 1974. She received both her Bachelor degree in Biochemistry and Doctor degree in Optometry from U.C. Berkeley. Dr.Kao has been practicing optometry since 1983. She was appointed by Governor Wilson to the California state Board of Optometry as a board member first in 1993, and then re-appointed by the Governor in 1996, for total of 8 years. She completed an intensive course of Therapeutics and received her Therapeutic license in 1997. Her doctorate thesis was on "Myopia Control by Acupuncture". She has been devoting a lot of time in Myopia Control. Dr.Kao's special interest is in contact lenses and children's vision. The combined expertise has enabled Dr.Kao to offer orthokeratology treatment(reduction and control of myopia by specialty rigid gas permeable contact lenses)to our patients. Dr. Kao can conduct eye exams in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Taiwanese. in her spare time, she enjoys aerobics, jogging, golfing, and most of all skiing with her husband, daughter, and son.
Dr. Trang Nguyen was born in Vietnam and raised in California. She received her Bachelors degree in Genetics at UC Davis in 1998 and then went on to get a Doctorate degree in Optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry in 2002. She has been working as an associate for Dr. Kao since 2003. she is fluent in vietnamese, English, and can conduct exams in Spanish as well. In her spare time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys running, snowboarding, and keeping up with her 1 year old daughter.
Trang B. Nguyen, O.D.
Grace Wong, O.D.
Dr. Grace Wong, O.D., was born and raised in Hong Kong and moved to California when she was 12. She received both her Bachelor degree in Molecular Cell Biology and Doctorate degree in Optometry from University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Wong has experience in full scope optometry with special interest of pediatric vision, specialty contact lens, laser vision correction and ocular disease management. She is theurapetic, lacrimal and is among one of the few glaucoma certified optometrists. She is able to treat a wide range of ocular diseases. Dr. Wong completed internships at Sacramento and Puget Sound Veteran Affairs hospitals, Barnett Dulaney Eye Center, Kaiser Permanente and Meredith Morgan Eye Center at U.C. Berkeley. She has performed vision screening at public schools and community clinics, and partipated in VOSH humanitarian trips to provide eye exams to the underserved population in Thailand and Nicaragua. Dr. Wong was recognized by Univeristy Of California, Berkeley for her leadership and community service. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and is proficient to conduct exam in Spanish as well. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and Santa Clara Optometric Society. Outside the practice, she enjoys traveling, cooking, snowboarding, and spending time with her family. Dr. Wong looks forward to provide the highest care to her patients from all walks of life.
